Details:
The Serial Number on a newer style Detroit Diesel 6V-71 engine can be found stamped
on the left side, upper front corner of the cylinder block. The Serial Number on older 6V-71 engines can be found on the right side, upper rear corner. An example
of an 6V-71 serial number would be "06VAXXXXXXX."
In order to ensure that the correct parts are selected, Agkits.com
requires a valid engine serial whenever a Detroit Diesel engine kit is
ordered.

(Gasket Set does not include front and rear crankshaft seal. This is because we need to know if your engine is left or right hand rotation. This can be determined from your engine model number. If you need to add the seals to the engine kit please call us and we will be happy to do so.)

Special Instructions for the Oil Ring Expander Spring
This oil ring expander assembly contains an extra expander. The expander to be used depends upon the engine application . The expander with the PINK PAINT mark is for all applications except transit coach. The WHITE PAINT mark expander is for city transit coach applications. Use one per pil ring based on these guidelines.
